they let him out again.....

Pooop Idol kind of floped over here, probably one of the reasons that X-crap-tor and Rage are all the hype right now! NO need to ge drawn into that debate now...

State side Poop idol went gold platinum and then space dust.... now Simon Fuller (19 Entertainment) is set to evolve the reality tv sideof music all over again...

The new ish is called I can dream, it is the usualslice of realit tv come artist trying to break the industry...... HOWEVVVER as always with Fuller there is a twist. The show will operate on a 24/7 cycle; online streaming will be constant, and the show will launch across platforms, including TV, radio and mobile handsets.

You can use twitter and MYSPACE... (hmmm didnt myspace just relaunch? funny that).

lastly - heres a direct quote from the man himself.....

“The next frontier is the video world of authentic real time interaction. If I Can Dream experiments with technology to provide for the first time a complete open door opportunity that allows the viewer to experience reality in a way never before attempted. It is time the public got to see the truth behind what it takes to launch the careers of young artists.”

It should be MORE exciting than his quote.

Ready For The Floor - Official Video

ABBEY ROAD vs MUSIC CLOUD

Abbey Road studios has teamed up with online music service SoundCloud to offer producers and artists the chance to have their music polished by famous audio engineers.

The partnership allows music professionals to send their music to the studio to be mastered on the same equipment that was used on legendary acts including David Bowie and The Beatles.

The service also means that artists can share their music through social networks where they can embed tracks on websites and blogs to promote themselves.

SoundCloud CEO Alexander Ljung says, "We're extremely excited to be partnering with probably the most famous recording studio in the world. The Abbey Road mastering service is an amazing way of giving new talent the chance to have their work mastered at the highest level.

“This fits SoundCloud perfectly as we too are all about bringing professional tools and ease of use to music makers across the web. We look forward to seeing if the next Beatles or Pink Floyd emerges from this partnership.”

Artists remix Rankin

Vevo, Hulu and the 4 majors move to change online video streams

Hulu is Chinese for vessel a new video provision website mainly for big broadcast sites... EmI just signed a deal to move in on the music side of things. BUT this is only open to US useers... (boooo). Artists such as Norah Jones will have pages dedicated to their music, videos, and have stuff like interviews as well.

Another new alternative is the Vevo site. Vevo is music, video you.. according to the website. Guess who is in bed together on this one?? Only Youtube and its family member Google, as well as Sony and Universal...the project looks to go live on the 8th of december with rivals such as Vimeo gaining ground it looks like Google is trying to work out a next step for the arguement that kicked off with copyright and user generated content. As a result there is no user generated content on the Vevo site at all..

So the only Major who has not drawn new alliances is Warner, and we all know what happened with Warner and Youtube a few months back when they pulled loads of content off the Youtube portal. (big up PRS). That situation pretty much sorted its self out when Warner got the paycheck from advertising content all over Youtube. Im sure the plot will continue to thicken, stay tuned.

Beyonces calls Lady Gaga's iPhone and Will does algebra....

Most radios do this thing called a playlist, its like a set of broadcasting laws that all the automatrons that play music on large stations adhere to. That is of course unless you play a specialist type show (so they say). The playlist for this week... (week just gone) is preeeeety interesting myann... my faves off a few random lists at the BBC are bolded...

Radio 1

C list

Chipmunk - Look For Me

Cheryl Cole featuring Will.I.Am - 3 Words

Jay-Z featuring Mr Hudson - Young Forever

Passion Pit - Little Secrets

Shakira - Did It Again

Take That - Hold Up A Light

Wiley featuring Chew Fu - Take That

1 Upfront

Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks

Iyaz - Replay

Sidney Samson featuring Wizard Sleeve – Riverside

6 Music

A list

Depeche Mode - Fragile Tension

School Of Seven Bells - Half Asleep

C list

Badly Drawn Boy - Is There Nothing We can Do

Polka party - Serbian Tennis

If you noticed there is a bold on Wiley's Video... check it out below along with Beyonce and GaGa goo's new video which is ever so slyly promoting the fact that there needs to be more women in the armed services>?? I seriously felt like I was in a cool place, like a time warp. Will's video is also kinda weird... but then he had foxes, sorry "people foxes" in his first video so after people got over that shock I suppose he had to keep them firmly on their toes. Take that Gary B! It is one very Visually stunning video.

More Cloak and Dagger from Profisee

hoOkaaay!!.. This edition we reach out North of the Border, real quickly cos its getting cold and I didnt bring my jacket. (schoolboy error). I hooked up with Cloak and Dagger and found out about the labels new release from MC Profisee.

Cloak and Dagger is a term sometimes used to refer to situations involving intrigue, secrecy, espionage, or mystery.... so pay attention, here comes some intrigue and mystery. Apart from being dark and handsome Cloak and Dagger curate a channel for the TENTRACKS project.... www.tentracks.co.uk

And now if you are sitting comfortably - its Interview time
S&R:If cloak and dagger were a star, how would it have been born?
:C&D:Born out of neccessity

S&R::And why so cloak and dagger? What's the whole idea?
:C&D::We originally thought of calling our project "Moonshine"...because we used to work late nights, brewing concoctions and ideas. The Cloak X Dagger moniker came through after being involved and influencing a hell of a lot of stuff around us without being truly acknowledged for the parts we played in it. CXD is a more focused attack. We are silent assassins.
"Those who know, do not speak. Those who speak, do not know." - Lao Tzu
S&R:What is cloak and daggers star sign?
:C&D:We are ying and yang. Fire and Water. I suppose that depends on what time of the year it was born I reckon... We are always Aries and Aquarius.

S&R:If cloak and dagger was an animal what would it be...?
:C&D:The Hummingbird.

S&R:I hear you got some vinyl dropping, keeping it old school real yeah? I love it.
What magique is locked up in that explosive plastique?
:C&D:"When your in the zone it's not an illusion" The sentiment locked in the grooves, is to not be deceived by what is around you. Focus more and you. Proceed..the journey is looooong. The more you listen to this, the more you'll get from it. Profisee comes from a different era, the lyrics are multilayered. Eprom sprinkles real magic on the production, he's gonna blow!

S&R:What makes you starrich (pronounced - star-ish)....?
:C&D:We are Clairvoyants.

S&R:Yeah, lastly - any shout outs?
:C&D:Anyone who feels they need a big up...."BIG UP!"

Big up Starrich!

And the guys who appear on this release of course.

:C&D:Oh..the vinyl was available November 9th from Juno Phonica Sounds Of The Universe etc

Cloak X Dagger are proud to present their first release on plastic and digital formats.

The Zoning E.P is a collaborative project envisioned by the Scotland's resident MC Profisee and San Francisco based producer Eprom. Both artists operate outside the conventions and rules of traditional hip hop and dance music culture, which is what makes the Zoning E.P all the more special. It's regional, global, progressive... and best of all, sounds ballistic on the club floor. Futurist beats collide with introspective vocals, bass heavy and zoned out to its core, taking their style to another dimension.
Prof is no stranger to the mic, over the years he has worked with the likes of Neil Landstrumm (Planet Mu), Process Rebel, Yard Emcees (One Little Indian), Hexstatic (Ninja Tune) and forthcoming joints already bubbling with Poirier Sound (Ninja Tune)
Now is the time for Profisee to solidify himself as a solo artist.

The vinyl release will include an exclusive tribal reworking of "Zoning" from LuckyMe head honcho's TheBlessings, plus reduxes of both tracks on the digital format from Vigilante (Great Ezcape) possessed by Beethoven. Edinburgh's own hip hop impresario Nasty P and new artist RVLT.
The Zoning Ep is set to break the mould and cast off any stigma attached to regional UK emcees.

Check it out and let us know what you think... Profisee will be available for radio/press interviews and sessions. Please get intouch.

Myspace to launch in Australia...

MySpace Music hires Bulldozer Inc for

This is a lazy cut and paste job.... please forgive me.

Australian launch

by Jane Leung 16-Oct-09, 10:59

SYDNEY - MySpace Music has appointed Australian independent agency Bulldozer Inc for strategic communications and advertising for the service launch in Australia.

The business win follows a three-way pitch that included two other undisclosed agencies. Australia is the second market launch for MySpace Music following a launch in the US last year. The first campaign is set to roll out next week in Sydney through online media.

Andy McKeon, founder and executive creative director of Bulldozer, said one of the biggest focal points of the campaign is to significantly differentiate MySpace Music from Facebook and Twitter. “Facebook is a way for people to connect with those they know. MySpace, especially its music offering, is a way to connect with people, bands andcelebrities,” said McKeon.
Creating awareness of MySpace Music being an 'outward-reaching' portal for music lovers is crucial for the launch.

MySpace Music is a joint venture between EMI, Warner, Sony and Universal Music. The account is said to worth US$3 million in media and marketing.

Bulldozer recently won the Kettle Chips business and released a campaign in Australia.

The UK is said to be the next stop for MySpace Music with BBH taking the account at the beginning of this month.

A few cool websites for artists....

also for fans and people who download over peer to peer (thats limewire etc...).
http://a2f2a.com/ is a place for all these parties to interact and add to the conversation about downloading and how it affects the music industry... Some artists prefer it, some hate it, some fans download then go and buy an album others just freeload..

The website is being fronted by Billy Bragg and Jon Newton and affliated to a site I mentioned before, which you can find again here ---> www.featuredartistscoalition.com

also check out Jons site which is closely related to the heat round this debate...

Freedom is a state of mind called Glam

FM....a real industry networking/social

This night is every first Monday of the month, except for January when the Networking Social takes a break... This months one was kind of special with music support from Post War Years, Fiction and the Good Gods. Cosidering it was a deal (pay for 2 bands see one free) it was value for money, all 5 nuggets of it.

Fiction were the most visually impressive, with a split drum kit duo and a bit of synth madness going on. Post War had some great jump up and dance tunes, a favorite of mine was a downtempo drum and bass kind of track. The Good Gods had some great stage presence and the Djs filling the gaps played also played some bangers all of which mad the music selection and entertainment factor high. We need to get some rock back into the X factor and then I might consider staying in on a saturday night...

Next on is in December... hope to see you guys there...

Finding your feet Fashion Show

Finding Your feet

making a selfless contribution to communities, identifying positive role models, creating opportunities and building futures for young people…

The 'finding your feet' fashion show aims to be a youth-led project. Essentially we want to raise money for the Diana Award (reg charity 1117288) so that they can implement some of the wonderful projects they have available and recognize the achievements of inspirational young people across the country.

We want to showcase and promote budding designers alongside those who are already established to generate new opportunities for the designers. With this concept in mind we hope to create an exciting and fun launch evening, whereby the audience can identify with the fashion show as a new inspirational way of showcasing British fashion culture subsequently creating their own fashion shows in different universities under the same brand name.

Tickets are at a small price of 25 pounds to be a part of this special event at Movida on the 4th of November - check out the facebook event...
